There are few hotels that surprises me, but Badrutts Palace does, it's one of a kind. What makes it unique is the history of the hotel, the world class service and attention to the guest and details, something that is getting harder and harder to find in the jungle of luxury hotels.
The GM Mr. Wiedemann has been awarded the best GM in the world and I must admit, with all rights, he is as much a part of the hotel today as the Badrutt family. He says "The award is an award for the whole team of staff here" a team which counts no less
than 550 in high season. Mr. Wiedemann has succeded in training his staff to say YES instead of NO, I wish more
GM's could learn this from him! He has 70% return guests at the hotel, among them one gentleman who has checked
in for the Winter season for 64 years! He sits in the bar everyday throughout the season at 2.15 pm at his special corner of the lobby bar. The Badrutt family lives in the hotel, and at 11 am every day, Mr. & Mrs. Badrutt are sitting in the Royal Corner of the lobby bar to greete their guests.
Mrs. Widemann manages the Spa and does it with care for both guests and environment, she only uses organic products in the treatments. The Spa is busy in the afternoon when guests are back from skiing. The pool is unique and with a breathtaking view of the lake and mountins. Try the Anika Facial, will make you glove for the night out in St. Moritz.
And after a night out, the relaxing massge will make your legs and feet alive again!
The best time to check in is during New Years, the budget for decorations alone is half a million Swiss Franc. The hotel
has two private clubs, Club Prive or "The Club"- the place to party and Corviglia Club which is the most exclusive ski club in St Moritz if not the world!
Start the night out with a drink
in the bar, the guests range from 18 to 80 years old and the atmosphere is relaxing but fun and happening.
The resident Manager, Mr. Angelo has been at Badrutts for 48 seasons, someone told me, "If you don't know Angelo you don't know St Moritz! " Have to run now... I see Angelo coming!
What can I say, speaks for itself!
